Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is a collection of events held in June to honor the Stonewall Riots in Manhattan in 1969. At the events, there are walks and everything is covered in pride rainbow colours.

First, in 1999 and 2000, President Bill Clinton named June as "Gay & Lesbian Pride Month." Then, from 2009 through 2016, President Barack Obama named June LGBT Pride Month every year he was in office. In 2021, President Joe Biden designated June to be LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Apart from Pride month, there are many special days that represent LGBTQ such as Agender Pride Day, International Asexuality Day, Bisexual Awareness Week and Drag Day.

Every year, the LGBT community celebrates in a variety of ways during the month of June. Various activities are organized throughout the world during the gay pride month to recognize the influence LGBT people have made on the world. In some countries, a week-long pride week is held, while in some countries a one-day pride day can be held. Today, there are several unrelated rainbow flags in use. The "pride flag," which represents gay pride, is perhaps the most well-known example of this. The first use of the rainbow flag by the gay community was during the San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Freedom Day Parade in 1978. Inspired by the symbolism of many social events support, San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker designed the rainbow flag with LGBT colours for use on pride month days.
